Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, required.
• Field of study in medical laboratory science; or a chemical, physical, or biological science, required.
• In non-testing areas, Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or medical technology acceptable.
• Master’s degree, preferred.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversees processing/testing of specimens and technical decisions.
• Trains new staff and ensures competency and education.
• Maintains quality assurance and regulatory compliance tasks.
• Directs staff, assignment/delegation of duties and scheduling.
• Maintains fiscal accountability and monitors inventory and budgets.
• Provides on-call coverage and supervises day-to-day operations.
• Develops policies and procedures and ensures applicable standards.
