Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee processing and testing of specimens, provide technical direction, and ensure regulatory compliance. The role includes staff management, training, and maintaining safety and quality standards across the lab.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in medical laboratory science (Master’s preferred) with relevant supervisory experience and strong computer and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• ASCP certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee processing and testing of laboratory specimens and provide technical direction.
• Direct workforce, assign/delegation of duties, and ensure competency and training.
• Maintain safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance within the department.
• manage instrument maintenance, preventive maintenance records, and service logs.
• Provide ongoing education, training, and staff development; monitor inventory and budget.
