Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, NC, is seeking a Phlebotomy and Specimen Processing Supervisor to oversee Lab Assistants and phlebotomy processes. This role includes supervising staff, scheduling, training, and managing inventory.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, completion of a phlebotomy course, and current BLS certification. Experience in a hospital setting with previous supervisory roles is preferred.
Working under the supervision of the Laboratory Administrative Director and/or Assistant Laboratory Director, the Phlebotomy and Specimen Processing Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of Lab Assistants (all shifts) and all phlebotomy and specimen processing processes. The supervisor is also responsible for personnel functions, including scheduling, training, creating training schedules, participating in interview related processes, and resolving any issues or conflicts among staff members. The position requires performing the majority functions of a Lab Assistant, compiling monthly outpatient data for submission to Lab administration, assisting with inventory ordering, control, and maintenance, maintaining and reviewing the section manual as required by the accrediting agency, and working with Patient Financial Services to ensure accurate registration processes and resolve any issues that arise.
