Job summary

NALHE is seeking an individual to assist in a California laboratory under the direction of the Laboratory Director and Manager. The role includes phlebotomy, processing specimens, and performing clerical tasks in accordance with California lab laws.

Responsibilities include drawing blood, ensuring proper specimen collection, documenting results, and communicating with physicians. This position may involve supervision of other Laboratory Assistants and daily supply management.

Responsibilities

• Draws blood from patients' finger, heel, or vein observing aseptic technique.
• Obtains the correct amount and type of specimen.
• Documents all requests and released lab results accurately.
• Informs physicians of released lab results.
• Completes routing, handling, and processing of specimens.
• Orders, distributes, and stocks supplies as needed.
• Trains and reports on the work performance of other Laboratory Assistants.
• Performs other related duties as necessary.
