Job summary

Talentify in California is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support the Laboratory Director and Manager by receiving and processing specimens, performing phlebotomy, and handling clerical tasks under supervision.

Responsibilities include drawing blood by aseptic technique, documenting requests and results, informing physicians of results, and assisting with equipment and supply management. Compliance with California lab laws is required.

Responsibilities

• Draws blood from patients finger, heal, or vein, observing asepsis to obtain samples.
• Obtains the correct amount and type of specimen.
• Documents all requests and released results of lab work accurately.
• Informs physicians of released lab results.
• Completes appropriate routing, handling, and processing of various medical specimens.
• Orders, distributes and stocks supplies as needed.
• Trains and reports on the work performance of other Laboratory Assistants.
• Performs other related duties as necessary.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
