Job summary

TriCore, New Mexico’s largest laboratory, is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist for Rust Hospital. The role involves independent work, phlebotomy across modalities, and on-call coverage. Apprenticeship opportunities are available for those new to the field.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, with preferred ASCP certification and a relevant training program. Immunization requirements apply; valid driver's license and health facility work eligibility are also

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or equivalent required.
• PBT (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Completion of a Clinical Lab Assistant program or comparable program required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintains supplies and inventory necessary to perform departmental functions.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Exhibits basic problem solving skills to ensure exceptional customer and patient care service levels.
• Participates in and maintains coverage for on-call as needed/required to meet service levels.
• Maintains confidentiality of position and access to personal information.
• Performs clerical functions and documents critical communications as needed.
• Assists with various lab modalities and related processes.

Education
