Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant II to join a dynamic lab team. This role supports phlebotomy, specimen processing, and daily operations, and may act as a Team Lead or Trainer for caregivers, clinicians, and patients.

The LA II will head special projects, manage ordering, preparation, and delivery of specimens, maintain equipment and records, and assist in training new staff while providing excellent service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as a Lab Assistant in a healthcare system.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and label specimens accurately.
• Prioritize STAT, Routine, ASAP specimen collections.
• Document lab reports and bills as needed.
• Train new associates and assist with patient registration.
• Maintain equipment and inventory; ensure safety.
• Communicate specimen issues to staff and management.
