Job summary

Intermountain Health Layton Hospital is seeking a Pre-analytical Lab Coordinator to lead front-line laboratory operations. This role oversees specimen collection, processing, training, and QA tasks while coordinating with nurses, clinicians, and lab clients.

You will mentor staff and support supervisor transitions as needed. Ideal candidates have two years of lab experience, phlebotomy skills or certification, BLS, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• BLS Required.
• Two years of laboratory experience required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years of phlebotomy experience or national certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee team training, assessments, coaching, audits and scheduling.
• Lead pre-analytical teams performing phlebotomy, processing and testing.
• Act as liaison between ancillary services, nurses, clinicians and clients.
• Monitor adherence to policies and procedures; participate in corrective actions.
• Assist with interviewing and hiring; support in supervisory transitions.
• Manage stressful situations professionally and de-escalate when needed.
