Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist for Lovelace Medical Center. This role supports patient care by performing phlebotomy and related tasks in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The position is hourly with a Friday–Sunday night schedule, on-call shifts, and holidays as needed. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, and may hold an ASCP certification or complete a relevant program.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or equivalent.
• PBT (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Completion of a relevant Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program preferred.
• Immunization: Hepatitis B immunity or waiver; documented PPD test.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability for lab site travel.
• Eligible to work in a health care facility per state laws.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintains supplies and inventory necessary to perform departmental functions.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Exhibits professional judgment when dealing with clients, patients and co-workers.
• Demonstrates effective hospital communication, including on-call responsibilities.
• Performs clerical functions and documents critical communications as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality of personal and confidential information.
• Participates in on-call coverage for holidays, evenings, and weekends as required.
