Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist for the NM Cancer Center. This hourly position requires independence, basic PC skills, and willingness to work a Monday–Friday schedule with additional shifts and on-call duties as needed.

Successful candidates will perform phlebotomy and related clinical support, with paid apprenticeship options for those without prior experience. Strong adherence to safety and confidentiality is essential.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or equivalent.
• PBT (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
• Completion of a relevant CLA program.

Responsibilities

• Check-in and order entry related tasks and reconciliation as required.
• General phlebotomy duties including blood collection from patients aged 10 and above.
• Assist with special collections and external shipping certifications.
• Support provider-performed procedures (e.g., FNA, bone marrow, EBUS) as needed.
• Process specimens, ensure proper storage, and assist with triage for testing.
• Maintain documentation and communication within the department.
• Participate in on-call coverage and support after-hours requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with privacy rules.

Education
