Job summary

TriCore, New Mexico’s largest laboratory, seeks a Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist for the Northside location. The role involves performing phlebotomy procedures, assisting with various modalities, and maintaining accurate records. Apprenticeship options exist for candidates with limited experience.

Regular daytime hours Monday–Friday with potential on-call coverage and holiday work. Compensation depends on modalities performed and certification level, with paid time off and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or equivalent.
• PBT (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Completion of a CLS/CLA program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintains supplies and inventory for department operations.
• Observe students and new staff as needed.
• Demonstrates professional judgment in client, patient and co-worker interactions.
• Handles on-call hospital communications and routing as needed.
• Performs clerical tasks and documents critical communications.
