Job summary

TriCore, New Mexico’s largest laboratory, is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist for Lovelace Women's Hospital. The role supports phlebotomy and various modalities, with consideration for a paid apprenticeship for candidates with less experience. Regular attendance and patient-focused service are essential.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or equivalent required.
• PBT (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Completion of a relevant Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program.
• Valid driver’s license and insurable by lab carrier per location.
• Eligible to work in a health care facility per NM law and screening acts.
• Hepatitis B immunity or willingness to immunize; documentation required.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain supplies and inventory for department.
• Observe students and new staff as needed.
• Demonstrate professional judgment in client and patient interactions.
• Handle on-call responsibilities per location and schedule.
• Maintain confidentiality of protected information.
• Coverage for holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• Basic PC and clerical tasks as required.
