Job summary

Qualifications

• High School graduate with successful completion from a recognized program for training in phlebotomy or prior documented experience performing phlebotomy.
• Basic life support certification required within 3 months of employment.
• Maintenance of annual competencies in BLS.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary phlebotomy procedures on patients using appropriate techniques.
• Reviews requisition from physicians to ensure appropriate tests are drawn.
• Processes specimens including centrifugation, pour-off, aliquoting, labeling, and packaging.
