Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a phlebotomist to draw blood, perform EKGs, and assist with point-of-care testing in a busy hospital setting. You will manage specimen labeling, documentation, and regulatory compliance while maintaining inventory and equipment.

A high school diploma and phlebotomy training are required, with BLS within 3 months. Flex scheduling may require travel to other campuses; signing bonus eligibility may apply and will be confirmed during interview.

Qualifications

• High school graduate and completion of a recognized phlebotomy training program.
• BLS certification required within 3 months of employment; maintain annual competencies.
• Prior phlebotomy experience is required.
• Flex position may require traveling to other campuses.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary collection.
• Perform EKG, pulse oximetry, and point-of-care testing as needed.
• Label and package specimens for testing per hospital guidelines.
• Prepare ABN for tests not meeting medical necessity and obtain signatures.
• Maintain accurate records of processes and monitor refrigeration temperatures.
• Ensure inventory levels and proper storage of supplies.
