Job summary

TriCore, New Mexico’s largest laboratory, is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist at SRMC. The role performs phlebotomy duties, maintains department supplies, and participates in on-call coverage and weekend scheduling to ensure patient care continuity.

Candidates with HS diploma and CLIA CLA program readiness or ASCP PBT certification are preferred. Training opportunities, paid holidays, and comprehensive benefits accompany a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• ASCP PBT or equivalent certification preferred.
• Completion of a CLIA-approved CLA program encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection accurately.
• Maintain inventory and supplies for the department.
• Observe and train staff and students as needed.
• Communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and lab policies.
• Be available for on-call coverage and holiday scheduling.
• Handle clerical tasks and document critical communications.
