Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Clinical Lab Assistant Phlebotomist to work independently with minimal supervision. This position offers growth through a structured apprenticeship and involves performing a range of phlebotomy and clerical tasks in a busy clinical lab.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication, confidentiality, and problem-solving skills. Regular attendance, on-site work, and flexibility for shifts are essential for service coverage.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• PBT ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Completion of a relevant Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain supplies and inventory for department operations.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills to ensure patient care standards.
• Handle hospital communications and on-call responsibilities as assigned.
• Demonstrate effective telephone and verbal communication skills.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Assist with clerical tasks and document critical communications in supervisor's absence.
• Participate in on-call and coverage for holidays, evenings, and weekends.
