Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories, New Mexico’s largest laboratory, is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist in Espanola. The role requires independent work, the ability to perform multiple modalities, and potential apprenticeship for those without experience.

The position involves Saturday-Tuesday shifts, on-call duties, and a pay structure based on modalities performed. Excellent attendance is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• General PC skills and basic clerical abilities.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain supplies and inventory for department.
• Observe and mentor students or new staff as needed.
• Demonstrate problem-solving to ensure patient and client care.
• Handle hospital communications and on-call responsibilities by location.
• Ensure confidentiality of information and proper documentation.
• Participate in on-call coverage and holiday/weekend scheduling.
• Provide physical tasks such as phlebotomy and specimen handling as needed.
