Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories in New Mexico is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant Phlebotomist to work independently with minimal supervision. Regular attendance during scheduled hours is essential, with one or more modalities performed as needed.

Compensation depends on modalities performed; experienced candidates may be advanced through levels. Preferred candidates have HS diploma, PBT ASCP or equivalent certification, and immunization documentation.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent is required.
• PBT ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Immunization requirements including Hepatitis B, TB testing and rubella/rubeola/varicella immunization as applicable.
• Legal eligibility to work in a health care facility.
• Valid driver's license and insurability as per location.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain supplies and inventory for departmental functions.
• Assist with on-call responsibilities during scheduled hours.
• Demonstrate effective telephone and verbal communication skills.
• Document critical communications and on-call entries when supervisor is unavailable.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and personal information.
• Provide clerical support as needed by the department.
• Support coverage for holidays, evenings and weekends as required.
• Utilize basic PC skills.
