Job summary

American Red Cross in Michigan is seeking staff to support the blood collection process. You will work with donor teams, transport and set up equipment at donation sites, create a welcoming environment, and follow safety procedures to ensure lifesaving blood donations reach hospitals.

Paid phlebotomy training is provided. Prior healthcare experience not required, and the role offers a flexible schedule with weekends and variable hours to serve donors and communities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills required.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record required.
• Physical requirements may include lifting, pushing or pulling heavy weights and long hours.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take time to connect with donors and explain donation impact.
• Create a welcoming environment to encourage repeat donations.
• Ensure blood collection meets goals and safety/regulatory requirements.
• Assist with vehicle operation and setup/teardown at donation sites.
