Job summary

The American Red Cross in Michigan is seeking a Phlebotomist to support mobile blood drives and donation sites. Responsibilities include connecting with donors, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere, and maintaining safety and regulatory standards throughout the blood collection process.

Paid phlebotomy training is provided with opportunities to grow healthcare skills within the nation’s leading humanitarian organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights and long, irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Connect with donors to share the impact of their donation and ensure a welcoming experience.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a friendly environment for volunteer donors to return.
• Be detail oriented to ensure collected blood meets goals and regulatory requirements.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setup/teardown of equipment at donation sites.
