Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a phlebotomist to join West Jefferson Medical Center’s laboratory team. The role includes performing venipuncture and skin puncture, properly identifying patients, labeling specimens with two identifiers, and delivering samples to the lab.

You will work weekends and holidays as assigned and follow SOPs to ensure specimen integrity. The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, with a certification program preferred; BLS/CPR is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Equivalent relevant experience of 4 years in lieu of High School or GED.
• Completion of certification program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and skin puncture on all patient age groups per SOP.
• Identify patients using at least two identifiers and label specimens accordingly.
• Transcribes orders and responds to code teams as needed.
• Ensure specimens are collected, labeled, and delivered to the lab accurately.
