Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a phlebotomy-focused team member to perform venipuncture and specimen collection in a hospital setting. You will follow SOPs, ensure patient identification accuracy, and deliver specimens to the proper Lab section.

The role requires High School Diploma or GED, CPR/BLS, and preferred phlebotomy certification. Weekend/holiday coverage may be required as part of the shift schedule, with a patient-focused approach to service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 4 years of equivalent experience may substitute.
• Certification in phlebotomy preferred.
• BLS/CPR required.
• Phlebotomy certification or LSBME license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and skin puncture for all ages following SOPs.
• Manage workload and monitor collection lists; answer calls with appropriate service.
• Maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies and ensure expiration dates are respected.
• Accurately update specimen collection status and deliver to the correct Lab section.
• Report complaints or problems to department supervisor as needed.
