Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, or 2 years of applicable experience, or Phlebotomist Certification required.
• Knowledge of standard phlebotomy techniques and handling procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and skin puncture per SOPs.
• Adheres to SOP for specimen collection using handheld devices.
• Monitors collection list and documents status of outstanding collections.
• Ensures STAT specimens reach Lab within 15 minutes of collection or pickup.
• Updates specimen status with correct collect and receipt times.
• Delivers specimens to appropriate Lab Section promptly.
• Communicates complaints or problems to supervisor.
• Collects data for QA per SOP or supervisor instruction.
• Maintains neat documentation and clears pending collection reports.
