Job summary

LCMC Health is actively hiring a Phlebotomist to support the East Jefferson General Hospital laboratory operations in Louisiana. The role involves performing venipuncture, collecting and transporting specimens, and ensuring accurate laboratory processing in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED (or 2 years of relevant experience), knowledge of phlebotomy techniques, and strong documentation and communication skills to support patient care

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent; 2 years of applicable work experience accepted.
• Phlebotomist Certification will be considered in lieu of minimum qualifications.
• Knowledge of standard phlebotomy techniques and blood collection procedures.
• Ability to document accurately and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and skin puncture per SOP.
• Manages workload using collected data and SOP guidelines.
• Monitors collection lists and updates outstanding collections.
• Ensures STAT specimens are delivered to the Lab promptly.
• Properly handles and tracks specimens and data in the EMR.
• Maintains neat and thorough documentation.
• Monitors and clears pending collection reports regularly.
