Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital in Boston is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to obtain blood specimens from patients in accordance with established procedures and to maintain a patient-centered atmosphere throughout pre-analytical processing.

You will register and label samples, centrifuge and aliquot specimens, assist client services, and help resolve specimen quality issues while upholding safety standards and communication with staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy Technician certification preferred (PBT/ASCP).
• 3–5 years hospital laboratory experience preferred; 0–1 year internship or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood specimens from patients according to established procedures.
• Register and label tubes accurately.
• Centrifuge and aliquot specimens per department policy.
• Sort, store, and deliver specimens to the appropriate lab sections.
• Assist client services and troubleshoot specimen quality issues.
