Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to obtain blood specimens from patients and support pre-analytical workflow in the laboratory. You will handle specimen preparation, labeling, and transfer to the appropriate sections, while maintaining safety and professionalism.

The role requires hospital laboratory experience and appropriate certifications. The position offers early morning shifts, onsite work at 1153 Centre Street, and a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a hospital laboratory 3–5 years preferred.
• Phlebotomy Technician (PT) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies correct specimen and labeling requirements are met for test orders.
• Registers and labels tubes accurately.
• Centrifuges and aliquots specimens per department policy.
• Sorts, stores, and delivers laboratory specimens as required.
• Collaborates with medical technologists and client services to resolve specimen problems.
• Answers telephones and provides assistance as needed.
