Job summary

Atrium Health Cleveland Lab is seeking a PRN Phlebotomy Technician to join the laboratory team in Shelby, NC. The role covers nights and weekends with a weekend rotation schedule.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, specimen handling, patient registration, and processing lab orders while ensuring safety and compliance. Prior phlebotomy experience is preferred; strong teamwork is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; phlebotomy certification preferred.
• 6–12 months of prior experience preferred.
• Knowledge of lab techniques and safety procedures.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary puncture.
• Process nonblood specimens accurately and timely.
• Perform patient registration and maintain documentation.
• Provide phone support to patient care areas.
• Maintain LIS and other hospital systems competency.
• Train new teammates and students in the department.
