Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Phlebotomy knowledge and ability to collect specimens accurately.
• Familiarity with lab safety, OSHA regulations, and universal precautions.
• Proficiency with LIS and hospital information systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Collects and/or processes patient blood by venipuncture/capillary puncture accurately.
• Processes nonblood specimens timely and accurately.
• Prepares specimens and transports them to the appropriate testing area.
• Performs patient registration and supports patient care areas by phone.
• Maintains equipment, PPE, and cleanliness; ensures proper labeling and documentation.
