Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Phlebotomist in Anchorage to perform blood draws and ensure accurate specimen handling. You will explain venipuncture procedures to patients and uphold high safety standards in a fast-paced lab.

The role requires 0–2+ years of phlebotomy experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to work with patients from pediatric to geriatric ages. This is an onsite position with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0–2+ years phlebotomy/venipuncture experience preferred.
• Ability to explain venipuncture processes clearly to patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct blood draws and label specimens accurately.
• Centrifuge specimens and maintain detailed records.
• Update patient information and store specimens per procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes to patients clearly.
• Match requisitions with tubes and label them as required.
• Package and store specimens correctly for transport, ensuring integrity.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and guidelines.
• Answer phone inquiries and read laboratory results as needed.
