Job Description
- The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative (PSR I) interacts directly with patients, acting as the face of the company, whether for routine health checks or critical health decisions.
- Draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing according to established procedures.
- Creates a trusting environment by explaining procedures clearly and performing blood draws safely, accurately, and skillfully.
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform daily activities accurately and timely under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing confidently, following established practices.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Promote a positive image and demonstrate organizational commitment to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements
- Ability to deliver error-free, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience
- At least 6 months of relevant experience.
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience is essential.
Additional Job Details
- Urine toxicology collection for detox clinics.
- Mature individual required.
- Phlebotomy experience less critical.
- Must work every other weekend.
- This role involves urine collection only.
