Job Description
  • The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions.
  • The PSR II draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
  • The PSR II has direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens skillfully, safely, and accurately.
  • The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence and maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
  • Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, or as dictated by business needs.
Job Responsibilities
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  • Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties confidently, following established practices and procedures.
  • Verify patient demographic information and initials, including post-venipuncture signature, to ensure proper labeling and identification.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Promote a positive image and demonstrate organizational commitment to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures, including dress code, safety, and guiding principles.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Superior customer focus, open communication, adaptability to change, and knowledge of our business.
  • Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Required Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
  • Minimum three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Preferred two years in a Patient Service Center environment.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service sectors is preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
