Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Brookline, MA is seeking a Part-time Phlebotomist to join a Patient Service Center. You will perform specimen collections, validate patient data in the BILH system, and serve as the face and voice of the laboratories to patients.

This role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Prior phlebotomy experience and certification are preferred, along with basic computer skills and a commitment to patient service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Associate’s Degree welcomed.
• Phlebotomy certification from ASCP or another accredited agency preferred.
• 1+ year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide phlebotomy and related services for all patients.
• Validate and/or enter patient demographics and orders into the BILH system.
• Collect specimens by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages.
• Prepare specimens for transport to the laboratory.
• Perform administrative duties to open/close the Patient Service Center daily.
• Assist in training PSC Phlebotomists as needed.
• Travel to additional PSCs and doctor sites when required.
• Follow departmental policies and procedures and maintain QA programs.
