Job summary

Labcorp in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform blood collection by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

You will collect specimens, enter patient data accurately, process billing when required, prepare specimens for testing, and travel to additional sites as needed. A high school diploma and phlebotomy experience are required; certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months or more phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 1 year or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
