Job summary

Labcorp in Oxon Hill, MD is seeking a Phlebotomist to provide patient-centered blood collection in either a Patient Service Center or Client office. You will perform venipuncture and capillary draws and deliver excellent service.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, phlebotomy certification or training, and 3 months of experience; 6+ months preferred. Schedule Monday–Friday 9:30am–6:00pm. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
• Preferred Qualifications: 6 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
