Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team in Ft. Wayne, IN. The role involves venipuncture and capillary collections across all ages, data entry, billing support and specimen preparation.

You will travel to additional sites as needed and provide exceptional patient service in a fast-paced diagnostic environment. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, and either Phlebotomy certification or completed training (or 3+ months experience).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Reliable transportation.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed
