Job summary

Labcorp in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team. You will perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary methods across age groups, and ensure accurate data entry and specimen handling.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, phlebotomy certification or training (or 6+ months' experience). Strong customer service and clear communication are essential for success in a patient-facing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 6 months’ or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
