Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certification from an accredited phlebotomy program.
• At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience; additional education may substitute experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture and capillary techniques.
• Identify and label specimens accurately.
• Instruct patients on sample collection procedures.
• Enter accessioning data into the computer.
• Prepare specimens for testing and handling.
• Maintain inventory and prepare phlebotomy stations.
• Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality with patients and staff.
