Job summary

Texas Health Care PLCC is seeking a skilled phlebotomist to join our team, delivering expert blood collection services at diverse patient service centers, physician offices, and clinics. You will ensure accurate patient identification, proper specimen handling, and adherence to health and safety standards.

The role requires current phlebotomy certification, preferred Medical Assistant certification, reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

Phlebotomy certification required (NPS/NCCT/NHA/NPA).
Medical Assistant certification preferred.
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.
Full-time schedule; Mon-Fri 8:00am–5:00pm; pay $18-$23 per hour.

Responsibilities

Perform phlebotomy procedures with correct patient identification.
Liaise between Privia Labs and physician offices to provide service.
Order and stock supplies and discard expired items.
Review NextGen EHR requisitions for missing diagnosis codes and information.
Print or send requisitions from EHR to LIS.
Ensure proper specimens are drawn for tests.
Maintain a clean, safe phlebotomy area and dispose of biohazards and sharps.
Assist in main lab as needed.
Assist patients as needed.
Instruct patients on proper specimen collection.
Report issues to Office Manager and lab leadership.
Attend required staff meetings and communicate problems with tests or equipment.
Address other duties as assigned.
