Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Dallas is seeking a phlebotomy specialist to draw blood, perform in-house testing, and prepare specimens for reference labs. This role supports patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, at 2301 S Hampton Rd, Dallas. You will handle venipuncture, urine collection procedures, data entry, and instrument maintenance while ensuring patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• National certification for Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist or able to obtain within 180 days.
• 2+ years of phlebotomy experience and 6+ months routine blood/urine testing.
• 6+ months experience with quality control checks on equipment and testing.
• Basic level of computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Prepares equipment for blood collection and venipuncture.
• Performs venipuncture and capillary punctures with proper labeling of specimens.
• Conducts designated laboratory testing and data entry.
• Instructs patients on urine collection procedures and manages specimens.
• Maintains equipment, cleans work area, and monitors waste.
• Ensures confidentiality and timely response to abnormal results.
• Maintains inventory and ensures preventive maintenance on equipment.
