Job summary

Rivers Health is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist to join the Laboratory. The role focuses on obtaining specimens, accessioning and distributing them, with phlebotomy, clerical and courier duties as assigned.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and a licensed phlebotomy program. An ASCP certification is desirable, and a valid driver's license with a good driving record is required. This is an on-site role with opportunities for on-call duties.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Obtains specimens and identifies, accessioning and distributing them within department standards.
• Performs phlebotomy, clerical and courier functions as assigned.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
• Collects specimens from patients using two identifiers and prepares samples for testing.
• Stocks and cleans work areas; performs general clerical duties and materials handling.
• Provides courier services to outside accounts as directed; on-call duties as needed.
