Job summary

Singing River Health System is seeking a Phlebotomist/Courier to transport specimens and perform venipuncture across clinics. You will verify orders, maintain patient safety and documentation, and support the laboratory team with pre-test processing.

Position requires High School diploma, valid driver’s license, and phlebotomy skills; some college and certifications are preferred. Interdepartmental travel within the SRHS service area is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; some college in health/science preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred or equivalent training; ASCP/APA/AMT/NHA/NCCT/NIHP/MedCA/NPC/AAH listed certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Transport laboratory specimens to and from sites following procedures.
• Perform venipuncture, heel and finger sticks, and other specimen collections.
• Verify orders, procedures, and specimens; ensure proper patient identification and labeling.
• Maintain safe driving and follow safety guidelines; handle clerical and computer tasks as needed.
