RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Lab CBMC Phlebotomist team at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. The role involves collecting specimens across inpatient, outpatient, and outreach settings, with time split across various locations and a focus on accuracy and patient care.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, a valid driver's license for outreach work, and 1 year of phlebotomy experience or related training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification required.
• A valid driver’s license is required for outreach phlebotomists.
• One year of practical phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Scheduling: Part-Time Day position, 25 hours per week.
• Flexibility to work 5:00 AM - 10:30 AM or 6:00 AM - 11:30 AM.
• Rotating weekends and holidays with weekday off when assigned.

Responsibilities

• Receive and determine the acceptability of all specimens.
• Prepare specimens according to designated protocols.
• Engage in technical computer database activity across LIS/HIS.
• Obtain blood and non-blood specimens by venipuncture.
• Verify patient identification with two identifiers.
• Contribute to section productivity and cost-effectiveness.
• Refer complex cases to supervisor or director as needed.
• Perform additional tasks as requested.
