The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and accredited phlebotomy training, with prior hospital or diagnostic lab experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program required.
• Prior experience in a fast-paced medical setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled venipuncture and capillary punctures on diverse patient populations.
• Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines, including PPE and sharps disposal.
• Identify patients using at least two identifiers and explain procedures to patients.
• Label specimens accurately and verify information matches test orders.
• Enter patient demographics and orders into LIS/EHR with accuracy.
• Maintain organized, sanitary workstation and assist with supplies.
• Comply with HIPAA and patient privacy regulations.
