Job summary

The Valley Health System in Ridgewood, NJ seeks a phlebotomist to perform blood collection for outreach and hospital patients, including travel to nursing homes. You will accession and process specimens, register patients, and respond to client inquiries regarding test status and results.

Required is a high school diploma and at least 1 year of phlebotomy experience with excellent customer service and communication skills. ASCP certification preferred; valid NJ driver’s license may be needed.

• 1 year phlebotomy experience required.
• Experience drawing blood from elderly and patients with difficult veins.
• Strong customer service skills required.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy on outreach and hospital patients.
• Travel to nursing homes as needed.
• Accession and process specimens for inpatients and outreach clients.
• Register patients and handle admissions with insurance/demographics.
• Provide customer service via phone, fax, or printer for test status and results.
