Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of Phlebotomy Certification Course, Medical Assistant Program, or nursing program.
• Six months phlebotomy experience is preferred.
• Experience using a Laboratory Information System (LIS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves and processes specimens including blood, urine, and other samples.
• Performs outpatient EKGs and assists in the lab as needed.
• Monitors patients during venipuncture and notifies supervisors of adverse reactions.
• Organizes specimen collection and ensures proper labeling and documentation.
• Works with Cerner Lab System for orders, results, and reporting.
