Zusammenfassung

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a phlebotomist to collect blood and non-blood specimens, including urine and sputum, ensuring proper labeling and chain-of-custody where applicable. The role requires competency in venipuncture and patient-centered care across age groups.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma and at least 6 months of phlebotomy experience; CPT certification is preferred.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy Certification (CPT) preferred.
• Six (6) months of phlebotomy experience.

Aufgaben

• Consistently draws blood competently and expediently with as little patient discomfort as possible for patient groups from neonates to geriatrics.
• Properly labels all specimens in the presence of the patient.
• Operate basic laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges, computer systems, labeling printers, scanners, phone system, etc.).
• Communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, clients, and staff.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, report distribution, processing, and faxing.
• If applicable, collect drug screens (internal and external) using Chain of Custody Process.
