WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a phlebotomist to collect blood from inpatients and outpatients, following standard procedures and maintaining quality specimen collection. You will support physicians and patient care teams in a hospital laboratory environment, ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and timely processing of samples.

The role requires completion of a phlebotomy education program and practical venipuncture experience, with potential certification options

Formación

• :Complete phlebotomy education with 50 unaided venipunctures
• Performs phlebotomy in hospital/clinic setting as required
• Follows SOPs and lab guidelines to ensure accurate results

Responsabilidades

• Performs blood collection using established guidelines for diagnostic procedures
• Follows SOPs to perform basic diagnostic procedures
• Operates basic lab equipment (centrifuges, computer system, tube transport)
• Restocks supplies and maintains work area
• Communicates with patients, lab sections, and departments to resolve issues
• Completes computer entry of laboratory tests with properly labeled specimens
