WVU Hospitals in Morgantown, WV is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to draw blood from inpatients and outpatients per physician orders. The role requires completion of a phlebotomy program and minimum unaided venipures, with preferred certifications or NAACLS-accredited training.

The position involves rotating shifts, 36 hours weekly, and operating laboratory equipment while maintaining strict specimen handling and patient-care standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of a phlebotomy education program or allied health program including phlebotomy education and 50 successful unaided venipunctures.
• Preferred: AMT/NCA/ASCP phlebotomist certification or NAACLS accredited program, or 100 unaided collections by venipuncture and capillary methods.
• Experience in hospital or clinic phlebotomy.

Responsabilités

• Performs blood collection using established guidelines to meet patient needs.
• Follows SOPs to perform basic diagnostic procedures and produce accurate results.
• Operates basic laboratory equipment (centrifuges, computers, timers) per SOPs.
• Restocks required supplies to assist co-workers.
• Communicates patient-care requirements for all ages per SOPs.
• Completes computer entry for requested tests with properly labeled specimens.
