Job summary

Software Placement Group in Lebanon, KY is seeking a skilled phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanency to support core laboratory operations on-site.

You will perform blood draws, label specimens, and ensure accurate data entry, while maintaining patient care standards and OSHA compliance. The schedule is full-time, on-site, 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, with benefits available.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience.
• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge samples as required
• Record maintenance data and perform decontamination procedures
• Update patient information accurately
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures
• Clearly and courteously explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes (e.g., urine or fecal) to patients
• Demonstrate proper technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles
• Fully understand and follow physicians' orders
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy
• Package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures
• Place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes and label accurately, following protocol-specific procedures to maintain specimen integrity during transport
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations
• Attend annual department training sessions
• Answer telephone calls and relay laboratory results to satisfy inquiries
• Assist with troubleshooting, training, and workflow recommendations
