Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed
• Minimum 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws and labeling specimens
• Centrifuging specimens and recording maintenance data
• Decontamination and updating patient information
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes
• Package specimens for transport and store per protocol
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients
• Ensure OSHA and DEP regulations are followed
• Attend annual department trainings
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results
